David,
he wasn't wanting to build, just get in contact with someone in OZ
with a sub he could offer work to.
His name checks out as a bonified geophysiscist.
Also there isn't this sort of problem over there.

Seems to me a simple tow fish would work. I do not know of any science
guys
that hate field work and being out of the lab from time to time.
Something's
fishy.

I think he wants the depth regulated at 20m, so it is under the surface
and
won't be affected by any weather conditions on the surface.

Hi Vance,
I'm pretty sure he's the real deal. They grow there own
over there. But sounds like a rov might be better use to him.

I'm sorry. Didn't we just go through one of these. Long range,
shallow
water, auto depth and bearing, top loading.....cargo sub?

Subject: [PSUBS-MAILIST] mini subs in Australia?
Hi,
I am interested in mini subs for marine geophysical survey.
Are there any groups within Australia that I could be made aware of?
Specs I am interested in are:
1. Speed - 4knots would be ideal
2. Endurance - the longer the better - max survey duration is
essential
3. Auto depth and Auto bearing - being on survey for extended
periods of 'on line' so would be good to not have to continuously
have to
monitor depth and bearing.
4. Access via top - no point being wet for long durations on
survey.
The intent is to carry/tow a scientific payload of acoustic and other
sensors. Water depth would just need to be say 20m deep to avoid any
surface weather issues.
Any info or direction would be much appreciated.
