The sub belongs to the estate of Steve Fossett, which is currently in
some phase of legally being sorted out (I guess figuring out beneficiaries,
debts, who gets what, what get's sold).  I think most of the details I
have (very little) are in the Graham Hawkes video/talk I posted a few weeks
ago.

Steve Fossett's catamaran is also in the Bay Area, de-masted and ready
to carry Deep Challenger to the dive site.

Nobody seems to know what will happen to the sub.
