RE: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Large ballast volume

    My ship used a low pressure blower once a source of fresh air was obtainable to conserve compressed air.
    I know little to nothing of how this blower worked but a piston type air pump perhaps similar to one you inflate tires with could be used if several were used together to take low pressure ambient air and compress this and force this against sea pressure and into your ballast tank.
