Thankyou very much! That really helps getting me back on track! In the next week or two I'll have the pods all on and the vessel off the roller!
Thanks,
Scott Waters

Scott,
McMaster Carr has the o ring size you are looking for ( AS568A- 114 ). I did a quick google search and found this site www.submarineboat.com/lathe.htm . Take a look at the lathe tool this gentleman made to cut internal grooves .This is a good example of how its done. I am sure if you googled further you could find lots more.
If you stick with the K-350 drawings you can't go wrong.

Subject: [PSUBS-MAILIST] through hulls
I am having a little bit of trouble with the whole though hull deals for the drop weights, VBT control, and stearing. (drawing k350-024). First of all how to you cut the grooves on the inside for the "O" rings on the lathe. I can do basic lathe stuff, but I don't know how to do this. Second is there a more common "O" ring and rod combination that will work just as well. I can't seem to find the "stillman MS9021-114 (.103x.612 I.D.)" and I can't seem to find in the blueprints the size of rod the penetrats or the whole way the assymbly goes together. I've been doing really good on the whole project, but this has got me stumped. Help. Thanks!, Scott Waters
