Wow, great pictures, labor intensive indeed ! I'm so glad I'm done with
this phase, I would get so many wire cuts on my hands and arms it was
ridiculous, I'd be a bloody mess at the end of the day, no matter how
careful I was. All that nasty wire is finally sealed up.
This top part is what I just finished plastering ( below pic), I was able to
plaster it as it is shown in the picture. Having done that, I essentially
maintained the correct mateing with the bottom half of the clamshell piece.
After that top part cured I flipped it over and did the other side.

Brian,
I built a ferro-cement 26' party barge several years ago. It was
outside and upside down for plastering and we covered it with one
sheet of black plastic. We made sure that the ground was soaked
underneath, the temperature went up to 120 or so and cured in a few
days.

Marc,
There is not much to see right now, It's all covered in wet
burlap for the next couple of weeks. Maybe I'll throw an outboard on the
back of it and drive out to Florida ! Maybe not - July I will be very
busy.

Gentlemen, I now have a submarine ! Well, sort of, I finally completely
finished plastering all parts of my boat. At the very least I can now
use
this as an ambient sub using scuba gear and even with no propulsion it
could
function as a glider sub. Word to the wise, always protect your hands
when
using cement, I would have had my completion date move up a couple of
weeks
if I hadn't injured my hands from the caustic action of the cement !
Really stupid of me, guess I got caught up in the moment! One area was
very
hard to get to I was using my hands to get the cement up in there, I paid
dearly for that ! I would recomend coating your hands with vasiline or
equivilent, latex gloves, and then cotton gloves over that. Anyway I got
it
done !
