The recent discussion of hull internal dimensions and operator position
reminded me of a design reference which I find invaluable, and which I
recommend every prospective designer to read:
The ABS "Guidance Notes on The Application of Ergonomics to Marine Systems",
available for download from the ABS site (eagle.org).
While not specifically addressing prone or supine reclined positions, this
document contains a lot of good information regarding control positioning, and
much of that info can be applied to our somewhat more cramped operating
envelopes with a bit of reasoning. I have referred to this document
extensively when designing user control layouts.
