RE: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Git Kraken

Frank,

I can talk dirty to you all night long. J

I expect that your sub will tow VERY well based upon all of the attention that you have put into the hull shape.  It would be hard to make it plane unfortunately.

Working with a another PSUBber that has a hull supposedly designed for planing on the surface but it looks iffy at this point…awaiting a Rhino model of his design so that I can evaluate it more thoroughly.  The shape of the hull is much more like a speed boat but the overall displacement plus the CG being way forward that will make this hull difficult to get up on plane.  Really hope that it works as it will a cool design with the ability to transit to the dive site at high speed and then carry two on a dive at 1 atm. With a great view for each of the passengers.

I love it when you talk that way........

Kidding aside, You know more about boat hulls than I do Jay. I gotta respect your knowledge in this. I'll carry on with where I'm at for now, and if it does or doesn't tow.....well, we're gonna see.

I remember the little video of the Delta sub being towed and it was bobbing around back there and bouncing and wobbling and doing some things I thought looked dangerous. I think my sub will do a little better. Rigging points make a difference and if I can get the sub to tow without diving or flipping over then at least I can turn my back on it once in a while to check the compass heading.
