Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Thruster test data

Thanks for that data Emile,
you would definitely save on power consumption
with the WD40.

Subject: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Thruster test data

Hi,

I like to share some test data with you.

I ran a test with a small (less than 20 LBS) , cheap electric outboard.

Propeller runs in air.RPM in water will be less.

Silicone DOT 5 brake fluid: Thruster runs but at just 1600 RPM. Fluid is not aggressive but the higher viscosity (it is still thin oil!) make it run slow. I can not grab thin silicone oil .

WD 40 : thrusters runs 3550 RPM

Empty Thruster: runs at 4050 RPM. Thruster had contained WD40 but the brush fire caused no explosion/fire

So if the WD 40 don?t dissolves the plastics over the years, I am happy with that!

Met vriendelijke groet, Emile
