I'll watch for the stuff Jay. Sounds very interesting.
I plan on taking some college classes too. Haven't decided just what yet
but a few avenues look like they'd be fun to learn more about.
I've often wondered if learning how to repair boat motors and related
equipment would be a marketable skill for an old retired guy. You know, Merc,
Volvo,GM, Perkins, etc. The common sail boat motors. Seems like a guy could pick
up some odd jobs in various marinas while traveling  around with a small
sub.
A few of my friends approaching retirement share my love of boats. A couple
are planning on buying live-aboards and doing the Carribean thing for a few
years. We've been looking at the big catamarans like the charter companies have.
Real shallow draft, fuel efficient, and LOTS of room inside. I really like the
shallow draft aspect so you can get "close in" with them. We'll probably rent one
in the next couple of years to see how they compare to regular sail boats in
handling and overall comfort. We've done bare boats in Greece and BVI and
had a fantastic time. Not sure if I actually want to LIVE on a boat, but for
sure plan on spending a lot of time at the harbors. Frank
