Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] co2 monitors

Yeah you're right Cliff,
my maths should be better than that.
The ZG106A-M is up to 10,000ppm ( 1% ) range & the ZG106A-H (under development) is up to 50,000ppm (5%)
5% should be adequate shouldn't it? Phils document on life support says that in laboratory tests on his bellows add
system the CO2 level fluctuated from ...25% to ...55% with mild exercise: so at a 1% level you'd know something was wrong
with your scrubber & at 2.5% you should be aborting the dive.
Mike, I looked at the link you posted; only one unit did CO2 the others were CO (carbon monoxide). The CO2 unit the M2
was a stand alone / transmitter. Looked pretty expensive & wrong voltage for me.
I was looking at another unit on a differant site, the Telaire 7001 but it had the same accuracy as the ZG106 models & was $430-US.
The ZG106 products have TUV certification as laboratory medical devices, so though they're cheap they should be reliable.
Outdoor CO2 levels range from 300 to 400 ppm (normally round 385ppm) so a check could be done on the unit before diving.

3000 ppm is 0.3% not 3%.

Hi Emile,
The measurement range on the ZG 106 is 0 - 3000ppm wich is 3%
the figure Nasa recommends as the highest short term exposure level.
The resolution is 1ppm up to 10ppm.
The accuracy is stated as + or - 50ppm wich is ...05%.
Has an alarm you can set too.

Alan,

Co2 monitor should measure at least 3 % or 30.000 ppm.

Hi all, especially Brent who doesn't seem to sleep at night.

Found this cheap CO2 monitor while sorting out my life support system.

I could only find one price US $62- & have a price inquiry in at the moment.

Thanks for the descriptions of how the acrylic conning tower was set up, Brent & Antoine.

Looks a lot cheaper & easier than a dome.
