Thanks for this Brian. It's looking like Florida has taken the lead for 2010 which likely means California in 2011. However, we are going to discuss more of this topic at the convention. It sounds like both coasts have good qualities, and good contacts for coordination, so it's just a matter of sequencing them based upon pure preference. If the group does opt for Florida in 10, I hope we can still take you up on your offer in 11.

Hi Jon, I would be willing to do a lot of the leg work for a convention here in Ventura at some point in time. My good friend has a beach house down at Solimar Beach which could handle a pretty good number of people. I could have my friend Ben set aside a time period for that. It's right on the beach, one of the original houses that was built before the area real estate became so sought after. Many of the homes around them have up-graded but their's is still low key. Great for having bar-b-Q's. The Channel Islands are just 12 miles out and I have a couple of boats availible. Ben has a 20' Radin which could carry 4 or 5 people (and could tow a sub) and my brother-in-law has a big ol 40' yacht with a Captain standing by for business clients that I think I could commendeer for just the price of diesel. Diving a sub would involve a tow out to Anacapa Island - weather permiting . Or possibly off shore. Usually the Fall is extremely nice here, off shore Santa Ana's flatten everything out and makes for clear water. There is also the option of going up to Santa Barbara harbor and diving in the shallow water out there. Santa Barbara is a bit more protected, the Channel Islands block swells coming from the south, they block them also in Ventura, but more so in SB. It's about 40 min to Santa Barbara from his beach house. Brian
