Hi All, If you can get cheap valves go for it. One word of warning though. At that price I would get one extra and pressure test it til burst then see if you are happy with it. Chances are you will but it is nice to know reality.

At that price they will be made in China or India. We can get cheap Chinese valves in Stainless steel that we would be happy with but they will be over $50. We pressure test them and they burst at 18,000 psi so they don’t meet 4:1 safety required at their rated 6000 psi in our industry but they would meet 4000 psi requirement. Chs Hugh

Sorry for the slow response. i was out of town working.

I am using valves from Grainger. They are either chrome plated brass or forged brass

The part number for the 1/2 inch female valve is 1PYN9. This valve is rated for water, oil and gas at 600 PSI and only costs $9.51.

They are the high pressure ones (cant remember the exact rating now) but the trouble is that they are REALLY expensive.

Any suggestions for some cheaper valves as i need to order a load of 1/2 inch ones and i nearly just passed away at the price of the worcester ones.

What sort of valves have other people used?
