[PSUBS-MAILIST] K350 Saddle Tanks v Normal

Hi All

I am thinking about making a change to the K350 design.  Although im not at the stage of making the main ballast tanks, i am busy making the last few through hulls and so i need to decide which system to  go with.  I am very tempted to make "nemo" style saddle tanks instead.  This would involve a change in location of vents and hpp air inlet.

The benefit is that it would allow my nice dome at the front to be totally clear for viewing (with a crash protector of course) and have maybe some standing deck area on top of the hull.

The biggest problem i can see is that i would have to have 2 vents per tank (1 at each end) instead of just 1.

failing that, i was just going to make the normal tanks as shown, and simply add a few acrylic "windows" to help get more out of my domed viewport.

Does anyone know what volume the K boat tanks are that i would have to replace?

Any ideas, suggestions, experience?  Good idea?  Bad idea?
