I have two 1 1/2" PVC tubes about 14" long that shoot out a
float. It is nothing more than a
closet dowel rod turned down in the center to allow for 80 lb. fish
line. they are just pushed into
the tubes. a lead weight attached to the lose end of the line and
placed in on top of the tube.
Just a simple blast of air and out comes the float. It will uncoil
and go to the surface with the
anchor staying put. I think they should work pretty well.
Will be testing and let ya no how it works.

Hi Dean. I can see having to drop a marker on top of a spot, so it's
easier to find when I come back for a better look or with some sort of
specialty tool to perform some task. The marker would need an anchor, a cable,
and a buoy painted a bright color or maybe even a light, so it will be easy to
locate. The dropping of the marker will make a slight difference in the
overall weight of the sub, depending on how much the anchor and cable weighed
and how much the buoy displaced that weight. could be as much as 20 pounds or
so.
That means a few gallons of water in the VBT, and the ability to change
it while down there. Frank D.
