Hi ya Frank, The Seka primer might soak in nice on the aqua jet cut edges and we'll have a smooth surface on the seating surface. I was hoping some one here that knows might tell us ya or na. I'll email Greg Cottrell and see if I can find out. Perhaps Alec knows. In any case we can polish the edges if need be in short order before annealing. That's my next item on the list is to polish out all the old acrylic that came on the sub, like dome, two conical frustums, and the forward large viewport. So I can go ahead and polish part of the water jet edge we just cut, and apply Seka prime on both a polished and water jet cut surface, then see how hard it is to scrap it off, or some other test you guys can think of. If currently working for a SS tank manufacture and I'm working up a design for a pressure test tank for viewports and other potted and other wise sealed items. This way I can pre test many of the items that might go in my wet exit training sub. So that means I could also test the polished versis unpolished issue. These guys here can TIG weld SS like a dream, and they also have a automated seam and head welding rig. They might be obtaining a dishing and flanging machine to go in there new addition, so they can make there own heads. I've been tasked with finding a pair of good used machines, but so far those that have them just don't want to stop making money with them and sell them, so new may be are only option for now. I've made a fair number of there more basic pressed SS heads in the past. But being able to make my own 2 to 1 heads in a wide varity of sizes and thicknesses will be wonderful. I know that silicone sealant needs a shiny smooth surface like the corners of aquarium glass. It would seem logical to have the same mating surface when using Sikaflex for window disks. Frank D.
