Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Sonar Baffling Material
Jens,
The article is:
Beamforming 101, by Martin Courtney Issue #221 December 2008, p. 69.
Unfortunately that is one issue for which I don't have an electronic copy.
The article is more mathy than electronics though. But there is SciLab
code available to play with.
Here is the CCI link:
http://www.circuitcellar.com/magazine/221.html
There is a ton of other info on the net. Google for:
Beamforming, Spatial processing, SONAR array processing, Phased array, etc.
Here are some other links:
http://www.curtistech.co.uk/papers/beamform.pdf
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beamforming
You can also trawl the old usenet group comp.dsp for lots of good info.
Hope it helps,
-andy
ps. There is also http://sourceforge.net/projects/hasas/ which is an old
software suite that does a lot of this kind of processing. It's not
under development anymore though, but the source code is there.

I would be very much interested in the Circuit Cellar reference.
Best regards,
