RE: [PSUBS-MAILIST] O2 high pressure line

Hi Dean,

Yes, absolutely you need to be careful. I once got an illuminating little lecture from the local Swagelok distributor, and what is so dangerous about O2 is that all the potentially fatal mistakes are all things that are easily missed for lack of knowing better. For example, you can cause a fire if you install a ball valve instead of a needle valve. And an O2 fire is not a run-of-the-mill fire.

There's an invaluable little book by Vance Harlow called "Oxygen Hacker's Companion". I would recommend you do nothing at all with O2 until you've read that.

cheers,

Alec

Subject: [PSUBS-MAILIST] O2 high pressure line

I am putting my O2 outside the pressure hull is there anything I should be concerned about with
connecting High pressure line to the inside? For example could I use a
standard high pressure hydraulic line? I am thinking that might contaminate the oxygen
