Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Side Thruster Cost

One thing Minn-Kota will do is sell the power heads and motor controllers separately. All the rest is junk for us anyway. Vance

Hey Emile.

Good price for the motors. I'll see what they come up with for me.

I'm in Veila this weekend. Is there a store anywhere near that might sell them?
Might be cheaper for me?

I suspect i'll end up buying complete motors anyway. Might be usefull to use
the controlls.

Regards
James

James,

Probably a marketing thing; Rhino in the Netherlands and Germany ,
Motorguide in UK.
Official price of the VX 80 (pound) is Euro 750,- each here but I got them
for 550,- complete.

Hey all.

Ok, ive sussed out the Rhino motors. They are made by "Zebco" which is why
i couldnt track them down to start with.

Anyway, according to the UK service centre, they are exactly the same as the
MotorGuide ones. Sounds like they have fallen out with Zebco and only do
the motorguide ones now.

They are seeing if they can get me the motors only to save cost.

Any thoughts on the motorguide units?

Im getting a quote from Minn Kota as well.

Thanks
James

Hello Carsten\Emile\All,

Interesting to know the sonar problems with the minn kotas.

I've found out about those now and have a quote coming later for 2x Minn
Kota Rip Tide 80's.

Do you have any sources for these Rhino motors you guys use? I cant seem to
find any information on them appart from some old battered ones on ebay.

Kind regards
James

Please note: The PM controller of minnkota do no work with any sonar.
You get only a huge amount of snow on your screen..

And a sub without sonar is nearly blind.
