Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Sandblasting

Hi James,

Yes, I'm doing it myself! It is one of the things I do for a living as an Industrial Painting Contractor. I have a 375 CFM compressor which will support a 1/2 inch nozzle at 100 PSI. Because of the tight quarters inside we went with a 7/16 nozzle so it's a bit easier to hold on to.

I had my guy start at 8:30 AM and now at 10:30 the inside is 90% complete and the outside is about 30% complete. I'm hoping to finish all blasting today. At 5.5 gallons of diesel per hour I'd like to wrap it up as soon as possible.

Best regards,

Jim K

Hey Jim.

Sounds like a major milestone reached.  Are you blasting it yourself?

Take some pics for us.

Subject: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Sandblasting

Hi all,

I'm finally sandblasting the pressure hull inside and out as well as many
small pieces, the skids and the four hard ballast tanks.

I'm hoping to have all these items in zinc primer before the week is out.

Best Regards,

Jim K
