A TED talk on using plants for indoor oxygen generation:

This is kind of interesting, I wouldn't suggest it could replace
and normal submarine life support system, but in a larger sub
it might be used to augment the life support system.  Although,
even for a large sub, four plants each 5 foot tall per person
might be too much - although I quite like the idea of plants
in the sub.

I know it's kind of "cookie", but figured I'd post it anyway. ;)
