RE: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Screencast Workaround

Brent,

It looks like you are saving in a non-standard flavor of the .avi format that requires specific video codecs.  Have just tried Windows Media Player and Apple’s Quicktime with no joy.  Windows Media Player didn’t work at all and Quicktime referred me to an Apple webpage with various extensions but couldn’t quickly find an .avi codec.  I shouldn’t have to put a lot of effort into viewing your video clips, try something more standard.

That's to bad.  I downloaded it twice on my Windows PC and both files played fine on my Windows Media Player.  It didn't play properly on my VLC player on my Windows PC.   I also sent the link to a friends gmail account and he was able to download the file and play in on his VLC player, and Quicktime player on his Mac.

It's a avi file.

Here is a link to a different clip.  It's a larger file, so let it do it's thing while you have coffee, or go squid fishing.

Nope! Didn't work for me Brent. Seemed like it was downloading something big though before it quit. Frank D.
