[PSUBS-MAILIST] Getting Frappr Links

Hi  Rick and Frank,

I'm not sure I'm a Frappr expert, but since I have three accounts there with over 100 pics each, maybe I am. ;)'

I got three accounts because each account will only show 100 thumbnail pictures on the account's photo page with no page 2 or 3 etc. available.  I thought that when I loaded more then 100 pictures total the oldest ones just got deleted. Not so, as it turns out.  If I have more then 100 photos, and then delete some, you can see some or all of those pictures that numbered over 100 before. Up to 100 pictures that is.   You could still see the pictures if you have a old link to them, but that's the only way I know, other then deleting some other pics. This is one reason I like the windows live account for pictures.  But it might be easier for you Rick to just have a Frappr or Flicker account for now. You can see some of what I'm talking about here.

Frank, your links to your pictures on Frappr have been working great for me for a long time now.  I have noticed you have far less pictures there now days.

Rick since the goal here is to get a good working link to your pictures on Frappr, this is what works for me most days.  Once you have your account set up, which is really easy, go to manage photos and upload your pictures.  If you have slow internet, you might need to reduce the picture file size down to 150 kb or less, and not send to many at one time, or the upload might fail.  The last picture you click to have uploaded in the batch will be the first at the top of your page of thumbnail pictures. So if you want them in a particular order, then upload them in reverse order.

Once your upload is complete, click on the photos link to the left, and your photos thumbnail page will come up. Then click on the picture you want to get a link for, and you will then see that picture in the largest size available on Frappr with a number of thumbnail pictures on the right side of other pictures you uploaded.  If you copy that web pages address in the address bar, it might work for some people, but if you want the best link you need to click on the thumbnail picture to the right of the larger picture.  Then you will notice that the address has change to not have " &myphotos=1 " at the end.  I just checked mine and I was able to see the link that had myphotos at the end, when I was logged out of my account.   But it might not work that way for everyone, and I didn't used to be able to do that.  Here is two links to the same picture that shows the difference in how the address looks.

To make sure you have done things correctly, you can send the email with the link to just yourself first. Then log out of your Frappr account, and then click on your link(s) and see if every thing goes as planned.

Flicker allows you to see the picture in it full quality, and it's full size, which is nice for some things.

Yes, my plan is like Dan Brewer's. I am trying to minimize as many "0" ring seals as I can because I feel that if there is a major "0" ring failure, you would ship more water before you can surface than if a threaded fitting starts to leak plus I will put a couple of extra holes with plugs in it for future possibilities like Dan did.
Frappr, flicker, fritter and flack,,, god I am behind the times! Sounds like a law firm!
I would like to the tricks and am all ears.

Hi Rick,

I see now, says the blind man as he spits into the wind.  It's all coming back to me now.  Your going to weld in your SS plate, which will give you more area to drill holes, then if that size of plate was used in a removable configuration.  Your not alone in using that config. since Dan Brewer and Emile have done that as well.  It's a very usable configuration.

I prefer using a removable plate type, since you can add holes and thread then if you wish much easier, and if at some point you need a totally different hole pattern and/or size you only have to make a new plate. This way no welding is needed later down the road.

See if you can send the pictures to me off list if you can not upload them to Frappr, Flicker, Fritter, Flack, or the like. There is a couple of tricks with Frappr if you would like to know them.  I sent some pictures to you the other day, if you didn't see the email, it will likely be in your junk mail folder.
