Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] epoxy sealers

Hi Brian,

I am going to assume that you wish to seal concrete since that was the subject when this came up.

General Polymers is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Sherwin-Williams Company and provides almost all of the coatings we use.

I prefer their 3579 100% solids epoxy primer. The 100% solids has very short pot life but has the advantage of not shrinking like other sealers.

In most cases, the general public cannot buy directly from this line of coatings. Ask if you can at a local S/W Industrial Store. If not, I think I may be able to help! If you cannot find an Industrial Store I may be able to ask my rep for a store in your area. If you would like I can send you a small sample of premeasured material to try!

'Best Regards,

Jim K

Thanks for the tip Jim, Do you have any suggestions on where to start on
finding a good epoxy sealer?

Brian

Hi Guys,

The World Of Concrete Convention is an awsome Industry Show. All of the
equipment for pouring, finishing, grinding, shotblasting and on and on is
available there. Most of it can actually be operated on concrete poured for
the purpose!.

If you go there for sealers, unless you wish to talk to a specific rep or
something, the only thing you will get is confused!!! Every company has
their best salespeople from around the world there and they can readily list several reasons why their product is the best. Unfortunately, there are not
50 best products in any category!

I have attended for 7 of the last 10 years, but this year am not attending.
If you go, you should have a list of a couple of people or companies you
wish to contact with specific questions. This information is availible many other ways also. I go there to look at new equipment and industry trends for
my business.

Best Regards,

Jim K

Ian,
That convention might be a good place to get a line on some
good epoxy sealers for concrete !

Brian
