RE: [PSUBS-MAILIST] MBT valve

Jay,   That makes since to me, perhaps if it was thinner or a poured urethane gasket, poured into a conical shaped mold, like the one used on my large front viewport, between the retaining ring and the acrylic for a soft connection but in a custom conical mold .

Here are the pictures I had been planning to show Frank of the poured soft gasket that was used in my subs large front viewport.   I had been thinking that this type of gasket could be poured into a viewport seating ring that was placed flat (if possible) or poured separately and then adhered to the viewport seat with Sekaflex or the like, so you could remove your acrylic windows without a sledge hammer and/or chain saw or the like.

Brent,

It is also difficult to form the sealing material into a coned surface.

Brent. If the gasket is on the top, and the piston/disk comes up against it, sand won't collect on the flat/smooth disk. Frank D.
