I think you'll find that most equipment in the Underwater field is going to 
be
more expensive than you would hope or expect.  There are two primary drivers 
in
addition to production/r&d costs.  One is that the market size is so small 
that high prices are required to offset development, advertising and field 
support.  The other is that the marine environment is harsh, so warranty 
repair costs are in general non-trivial.

Equipment made for scuba divers tends to have lower price points, but may 
not meet depth requirements etc.
