It was fun taking the soft tanks off, and better see what was underneath. As you can see the steel strap that was used was not a good plan. I'll replace them with SS ones and SS nuts and bolts. I'll also put rubber washers between the other attachment points. I'm also wondering about the possibility of using a soft gasket material to seal the tanks to the heads, instead of using silicone or urethane, which is a pain to deal with if I need to remove the tanks. There was no gel coat on these FRP shells, so they are pretty rough.
