Hi Doug,
Halfmachine is the home
base of Peter Madsen
his subs. We were allowed to grab some DC things from not used machinery .

Battery Switches
Thanks Emile, I'll start
looking around. I had not seen the Halfmachine site before; great stuff. What is your role in
all of that?

Subject: RE: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Battery Switches
We found some 200 Amp
hand operated switches on the Halfmachine Maybe you also can recycle them
from a scrapped industrial application as the will be very expensive new.
A Euronaut team member
has build a small , water-cooled electronic controller. Has not operated yet.
Yes, old style without
much losses is having 4 speeds by 2 banks of batteries and 2 engines.
What switches are available for changing how lots of
batteries are combined in order to change the voltage to a motor? There
has got to be something simpler that an bunch of 200 amp latching relays.
When I toured the WWII subs I remember a bank of large handles. Were they
recombining the batteries to control the motors speed?
I am trying to avoid a big expensive PWM and any power losses associated with
it.
How is Euronaut controlling motor speed?
Thanks
Doug J
