Hi Glen,
I'm not a K boat owner, but I am sure the steel
spec. stands for ASTM A516 - Grade 70 steel That is the most comonly used and
spec'ed steel for subs because of it's higher quality and ability to have good
properties in colder situations.
After much discussion and consideration, it is the
material I chose to use on my sub. Unfortunately, it is only available in plate
form and has risen in price more than most other more common steel plates.
