Hi Vance,
Missed the fact that Jon ID'd it in his post. I think I remember Submaray listed in the Busby book. I looked quickly for the online version I used to use but, could not find it. Was curious to peek at the Nekton boats again to see to what you referred regarding the MBT.
I will always remain fascinated by these regardless of where life takes me, If they just weren't so damn heavy! :)
Would love to try and break away from my hectic life to see yours when you come down this way.
Playing the lotto tonight. If I hit,.... I'll have plenty of time off! :) ....What, 1 in 65 mill? OK why not!
Thanks Vance!

Joe,
It's Submaray, built by Doug Privitt and sold to Mark Toggwieler (pre-Nekton Alpha). It ain't risky. They towed like that for hundreds of miles (all told). And the Nektons got dragged around the same way, at 10 KNOTS!!! It worked liked the proverbial champ. Don't know about Delta with the big forward MBT port, but its angled down, so I suspect the reason was to keep it reasonably towable.
Vance

A late 60's early 70's vintage film?
looks like one of the Nekton boats, perhaps Vance can identify?
Interesting, looks risky but there it is!

Hello,
I've put short clips of a boat towing the submersible "submaray" (about the same size as a K-350) on the website. These clips are segments of the film "The Dry Divers" which was supplied by Dan Lance at the 2008 convention. The direct links to youtube are included here as well. The entire video is just over 11 minutes in length so I don't know if I'll be able to upload it to YouTube.
