Could you use a 40 cu.ft. pony bottle with nitrox as your escape air? That
would eliminate the added nitrogen. I've been looking at
the bottles on ebay and they are small diameter so someone thin like
me could strap it onto their chest while exiting the sub. A horse collar
flotation device ( haven't seen one of those for many years ) would also fit
through the hatch easily. As for flotation, maybe a hard float under the hatch
so when the hatch opens, it floats up and takes you with it. Frank
