RE: [PSUBS-MAILIST] My Rubber Ducky

Hey Frank,

You take care, I wondered what you were up to with the lack of action.  That design of yours and all the feed on the little things that you comment on are great.  I keep a watch and have now finalized my design.  Never thought it would take so long.  It’s not going to be cheap with 48” main hull and 4 x 90 degree domes.  However my Brother who has just had a stroke last Saturday while on a yacht race with me, (Brought me back to the realities of life and I went for a checkup yesterday) has an Electrical importing business and has put me on to a surface power plant and drive option that I am going to adopt.  Two diesel turbine generators, 96000 rpm Air bearings, 30 kw each with new Battery technology (Lithium polymer) Fancy Triac stuff and a few wiz bangs. Will keep you in touch when I get more detailed.

Best wishes from downunder,  Hugh

Brent. Sounds like your new sub has quite a history. Very cool!  I wonder if you can get some pictures from the previous owners. It would be nice ( for you) to have some old time photos of the sub sitting in different locales or maybe even in the water in some far off spot.

I'm currently doing FRP work on my back fairing and still welding on the hull. My schedule has slipped a bit lately ( had a heart attack last week, and surgery ) but I'm still plodding along. I don't think I'll make the convention this year, but I'm determined to have the sub ready for next year's meet.

Best of luck on your re-fit, Frank D.
