I had already talked to one previous owner near me in Sandpoint. But I didn't ask him about pictures. I'll have to go visit with him. From what I gathered from my phone conversation with him, he bought the sub in a none working condition from Dr. LeSchack and didn't do any thing with the sub. After realizing that he needed a tender catamaran to do what he wanted to do with the sub, he decided that was more then he wanted to spent in time and money. As for Dr. LeSchack I've been planning on looking him up and seeing if I can go visit with him. I'm sure he would have loads of pictures and stories to tell. He is 73 from what I've read, and a very prolific scientific writer. So I'll need to get all my ducks in a row and find my suit and tie. He used to live here locally in Sandpoint, but he might of gone to Canada, Florida, or Texas from different things I've read. So it's a good old fashioned goose chase. Sounds like your new sub has quite a history. Very cool! I
wonder if you can get some pictures from the previous owners. It would be nice (
for you) to have some old time photos of the sub sitting in different locales or
maybe even in the water in some far off spot.
I'm currently doing FRP work on my back fairing and still welding on the
hull. My schedule has slipped a bit lately ( had a heart attack last week, and
surgery ) but I'm still plodding along. I don't think I'll make the convention
this year, but I'm determined to have the sub ready for next year's meet.
