Congratulations Brent!!!!
It's great to hear you got your hands on a sub and it's
always nice to know a sub is getting restored rather then
rusting away.
I'll add you to the list I have and will forward the
update to Jon also.
You'll be busy, Dan H.

Subject: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Dan H. Your List
Needs Work
Hello Dan,
If you would be so kind as to up date your sub list
as having the Dr. LeSchack K-250 #105 as having a new owner, or yours
truly.
Here is part of an article from The Wall Street Journal, that
talks about my sub as well as several other K-250's
"The Wall Street
Journal, Wednesday, July 12, 1978. That Sinking Feeling Gives Lift to
Owners Of 1-Passanger Subs. The 12-Foot, $12,000 Craft Are Built by Firm
in Maine Founded my Ex-Navy Man
Leonard LeSchack, the owner of a Silver
Spring, Md., research and consulting firm, wants to get work inspecting
underwater drills and pipelines for oil companies. He has been testing and
modifying his sub to make it suitable for diving under ice in the Arctic
waters. So far, Mr. LeSchack says, there are expressions of interest from oil
companies but no firm orders."
Also do you or any
one else know of any surviving, and/or working original K-250 subs built by
the Captain and his crew, other then the Trilobite K-250 that last I heard was
owned by Dr. Michael Smith, of Pasadena, California? I'm going to see if
I can find out what the condition of the Trilobite Sub is. Jon told use
about a speaker at the Underwater Convention that he missed about the 25 year
history of the Trilobite. There is also some interesting accounts of the
Trilobite in the Captains book.
Regards, Brent
Hartwig
