Hi Randy. I know what you mean. Remember a couple years
ago when Silvercrest Submarines was operating a sub down in the Galapagos and
the Chilean govt. confiscated their sub and arrested some of the guys involved ?
I think the boat was being leased from Silvercrest by someone else, and I'm
not sure if they got the boat back or not.
I've dove the Channel Islands area and it's really nice.
Lots to see. There are quits a few ship wrecks there as well. I wonder how many
psubs are on the west coast. The Frappr map shows at least one guy in So. Cal.
but I bet there's more than that. Maybe we could get a convention here in the
future. There's lots of good launch sites, and many areas are really beautiful,
even in the shallow areas. Many guys won't take their boats into salt water, but
I think most of the coastal psub guys built theirs with salt water in mind.
I'll talk to Jon and Ray at the convention this year and see what the chances
are. Frank D. Get trade secrets for amazing burgers. Watch "Cooking with Tyler Florence" on AOL Food. |
