RE: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Newbie

Hi Don.

I bought K350 parts recently. Like other people have said i dont think there is an actual kit anywhere. Youve just got to find somewhere that does rolled steel tubes. I had to get my endcaps from a different place as i couldnt find anywhere that did both caps and tubes. Still not a big deal. Just look up pressure vessels in your area.

Again, like other people have said, dont whatever you do tell them its a sub. Just order the tubes and specify the correct material and tollerance. They wont be interested in what its for.

Get the stiffening rings made in 360 degree profiles. I had mine done in 180 degrees and welded them together to save money. It was a real pain and i messed some of them up meaning i had to replace them.

good luck.
James

All,

My name is Don and I am an engineer. I recently ordered K350 plans and have been studying the plans and researching the web. All my research indicates that the major parts of the sub (pressure hull, conning tower, battery pods, etc.) can be ordered like a kit? Thanks in advance.
