RE: [PSUBS-MAILIST] PSUBS in BoatU.S.

The author just mailed me some free copies of the magazine. I thought she did quite thorough research and covered a lot of ground in two pages, and the tone was definitely positive towards PSUBS. The magazine has a circulation of 650,000 so this gets the word on PSUBS out to quite a bunch of people.

There is one minor bit, however, that took me by surprise. In the article, a gentleman described as being a former business associate of mine goes into raptures about his adventures diving in the sub. Well, the extent of being "business associates" is that we once owned rental properties in the same building. But as for his underwater adventures, I'm afraid he only sat in the sub on the surface! Anyway, he only said nice things so no harm done. I wish authors would allow the people quoted to proof-read their stories.

Jon, d'you want me to scan and send the article?

thanks,

Alec

Subject: [PSUBS-MAILIST] PSUBS in BoatU.S.

I haven't seen it mentioned here, but there is a 2 page article in the latest (May 2008) issue of BoatU.S. magazine, published by the Boat Owners Association of the Unites States, regarding "Versatile Submersibles," in which PSUBS is prominent.  It is authored by Jill Culora.

There is particular reference to (and quotes from) both Alec Smyth and Jon Wallace, with photos from the PSUBS convention in Raystown Lake, PA., on pages 22 and 23.  George Kittredge is also featured.
