Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Don't get discouraged!!!

Hi Frank,

Thanks for the encouragement. Yes, I definately have plans for a manipulator arm. It will probably be a fairly heavy version hydraulicaly powered with a basket similar to Dan Brewers. Bacause of time and cost I plan on welding in a boss at the front of the sub and plugging it. This will allow me to complete this portion later without welding on the hull again.

I'm still shooting for a summer 2009 launch.

Best Regards,

Jim K

Hi Jim. Good to hear from you. Ya ! It's a slow process building one of these things. It's still fun though.
Hey !!! I like the pictures I've seen on your site. Very nice.( Heavy Duty ) I like it !
Jon's got a nice set up happening there. It's so easy to access.
It's fun to share the stuff we're doing with the rest of the guys, and we all get to learn from each other.
Do you have any plans for a grabber arm ? I'm thinking we could use a simple hand built design of aluminum stock and plexi. You know, off-the-shelf stuff.
Dan had one that worked really well. Remember his blue sub? Very cool. We went on a night dive in Holland and it was a blast! Earlier that day, his arm plucked a golf ball off the bottom, put it in the basket, and brought it back to shore.
I'm gonna talk to my son in law, and see what we can come up with on something a guy can build in his garage. Hey ! Ya never know !  Good things I hope.
Frank D.
