Frank, Do to lifes heavy demands, I will not be able to get away this year to attend. I will forward some e-mail attachments covering the amplifier console inner workings I took but the other night and sent to Jon. This amplifier along with the hydrophone within the aluminum casing is by far the most sensative unit our group of researchers have thus far produced. Within the hydrophone case itself is contained an additional preamplifier. Should all submarines someday be equipt with a means of "listening" underwater (which is my goal), this does form the recieve half of a voice transmitted underwater communications system. With this passive sonar installed aboard your boat, you will be able to hear surface boat traffic and aquatic biological sounds. I feel that this simple system will be sure to enahance your submarine fun and safety! It is being shipped to Jon for his presentation at the convention and I will inform him to hand it over to you following this demonstration. I will be available to aid you in "how to install" in e-mail and phone voice as needed. Give me your mailing address and I will send you a control and indicator breakdown of the amplifier console front cover. With this early, you could be the one to demonstrate how the sonar system would be operated. I am working with someone on enclosing a small color tv camera within one of these PVC enclosures. I will share that which we have found to be of use with the group and this individual will be allowed to retain this initial system. The lighting application has yet to be initiated as to a prospectful candidate. I will be willing to produce a unit for you to install aboard your sub. You in turn will critique its performance and share the good and bad with the group as a whole. This lighting unit will run off of 12vdc and the parts and costs will also be shared with the group as well. If you agree to be a part of this team, we will start following the convention and the passive sonar introduction in August. Your boat is the saucer sub and apart from the trail well traveled...I like that trail as so many suprises await you taking it. Your doing wonders on the sub so keep up the great work of informing us of your progress...I guess we are going so slow with our that this proves to inspire us! David Bartsch
