RE: [PSUBS-MAILIST] ferro superstructure

Frank,
I think you guys up north got more rain than we did down here, as what usally happens.  My project has gotten stalled out again, it's that darn funding aspect that keeps getting in the way.  But things are looking up, finacially.  I've posted this link to my web site before,  on the pictures of the wire frame, before the plasteing phase, I had some structure below the supertructure hull that I ulimately eliminated.  My origional thinking was that I was going to mount the electric motor and batteries in this area, but I soon realized that plastering this area would be next to impossible so I cut it out.  What I'm going to do now is add it on afterwards by bolting in on as a seperate piece and make it out of fiberglass.

Hi Brian. That frappr site works nice doesn't it? And it's FREE !!! ( free is good.)
Do you have any sketches of your sub so we can see what it's going to look like ? You know us sub guys, always curious. I am assembling the foam mold for the rear fairing on mine. It's been raining pretty steady so am doing my honey-do list this weekend, but should be able to finish the foam in a couple of days, then sand and smooth, and ready for fiberglass. Next I'll start on the bow structure with basically the same steps. Weld the steel, make a foam mold, then glass up the fairing. Once both fairings are made, I'll make the ballast tanks as a tight fit inside the fairings. The motor mounts are all done except for a little linkage, and soon I'll be cutting/welding in the through-hulls for electric, hydraulic, and air. Then the inside begins. Controls, battery boxes, seats, plumbing, etc.( wet bar ?) Can't wait to get this thing WET !!!
I know all the guys would like to see some pictures if you have any more. If I can be of any help, let me know. Frank D.
