Originally built by Louis Omersa of Grand Rapids. MN between 1978 and 1983
from Kittredge plans, he then dove for three years. The sub was unused for
twenty years when I bought it in the Fall of 2006 from it's second owner.
That Winter my friends and I replaced all seals, acrylic, wiring and
replaced the electric motor bearings. We did a tea bag test that spring
and had it operational by Summer. We have over a dozen dives last year
including the PSUB Convention in Holland, MI and Lake Superior. Our Max
depth has been 40 ft until we do our unmanned test to 500 ft this year. In the
future I would like to add a manipulator arm and more view ports or external
cameras.
