Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Hydrodynamic Hatch Viewport Arrangement

Hi Carsten,

I concur with the zinc-rich epoxy primer as the best choice for the first coat.

A couple of things to keep in mind however.

Be sure of the recoat window before applying. Usually Zinc has a long recoat period, but if this period is exceeded you may have to resandblast.

Any zinc coatings MUST be applied over a SSPC6 Commercial blast finish or better usually with a 1.5 to 2.0 mil profile.

I will be using a zinc rich epoxy primer base coat, followed by a high solids epoxy intermediate coat. I have not decided what I will be using for a topcoat yet.

Best Regards,

Jim Kocourek
