RE: [PSUBS-MAILIST] SubCat S-30 Data

Hello Carsten,

I'm used to seeing Lithium Polymer Li-Po batteries used in electric RC planes, and they do have a very good power to weigh ratio. But they are not usually very fast charging and tend to have memory problems if not taken care of properly.  The guys I talked to at the RC hobby store told me they can't wait for Li-ions to be available for their planes with out having to modify a Li-ion battery designed for a digital video camera or a cordless power tool. I'm designing a submersible all electric RC plane, and the best power to size and weight Li-ion battery I could find was the Apple Ipod replacement batteries.  I don't know any thing about larger Li-Po batteries, but if they are like there smaller counter parts, and reasonably priced, they might be a great option for PSUBs to have longer endurance time.

Regards,
Brent Hartwig
