G-day P-subbers
This maybe a
simple solution to some of the issues described in this string so far. This
company produce custom cable glands for depths to 300m for their underwater
Torches. I have owned and used their equipment for years for cave, wreck and
night diving.
Follow the string
of e-mails below for company and website info.
Jon can we
list this company on the website under the suppliers section?
Regards
Steve Pearce

The ideal cable would be solid rubber cable 8 - 9mm Diameter
but for depths no greater than 100M PVC cable should be ok. Fitting
instructions come with unit. The wholesale price for these is $17.50 each plus postage.
For larger orders I may be able to give you a better price.

Thank you
for your prompt reply.
Would you be
happy specify the type of cable required for the AL-13M and if you would be
prepared to supply members with this 300m fitting. If so info on price per unit
and the specifications/instructions for fitting this gland would be
appreciated.
How can I
procure a unit for evaluation?

On our AL2000 series we use a PG9
Plastic gland which is rated to 50 metres and on all our upmarket range we use
our own designed and built Metal gland which I would believe would have a
rating of 300+ metres if used with the correct cable. I have included a photo
of each.

Torch Parts
I am
currently a member of an organization called www.psubs.org
which is dedicated to researching and building Personal Submersible water
craft.
Some time ago
I purchased an Alpha 2000 which provided good service for many years. Currently
some of us are currently investigating different cable fittings for lights and
passive sonar applications.
Can you
confirm what type of cable glands/seals your company use on the 2000 and 9000
and what depth they will tolerate?
It goes with
out saying I will credit your company with providing the info and post your
website details so the hundreds of members globally will know where to buy some
bloody good Aussie dive lights.
Regards and
thanks
