Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] German homebuilt

I like the design. Looks like good visibility through the towers. Simple in design, and probably easy to maintain.
Seems like a buyer could add some fairing, and have a great craft. Frank D.

Hi Alec,

2Dive has 4 tilteble thrusters, 2 bow and 2 stern.
The stabelizing fin has no prop.

I wish you and the rest a very nice time at the convention in Holland!

Interesting design, but I just can't make out the prop. Is that even a prop?

Looks like a new German homebuilt sub:

http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/up-periscope/home+made-mini+sub-dives-to-328-feet-288780.php

Here's what the two blog postings say:

Michael Henrik Schmelter, right, enters his mini submarine '2Dive' before diving through the water of Kiel Bay near Kiel, northern Germany, on Sunday, Aug.12, 2007. Two people can dive in this 'homemade' submarine down to 100 meters (328feet).
