I was wondering if anyone had any input/feedback regarding
the minimum distances between butt or girth welds for pressure boundary
applications? I found a reference that stated: “a
criterion that was developed many years ago based on welding tests
is: the greater of 2 inches or 4 times the wall thickness”.
As I try to design small I find my potential hull welds intersecting or
being very close. I am still researching but curious to hear from others. Thanks, Steve McQueen, |
