[PSUBS-MAILIST] Conical Designs for Pressure Hulls

I've been pricing steel heads as of late, and was more and more liking the idea of having small heads on the end of a conical end section, like seen on the R300. I don't really want to weld on the inside to much, so I worked up a basic design, for my self with external T stock ribs, like seen on the submarine Alicia. I'm aware that it is stronger to have them inside, since then the weld joint is being compressed together, rather then pulled apart. So the ribs will need to be a little stronger and/or closer together. Also this sort of design makes it easier in some cases to get a more streamlined shape of the final outside hull.
