Phil, Thanks for the update! I have one of your postcards
of the Exosuit ADS sitting above my desk to constantly remind me that
there is a business opportunity here. R/Jay Respectfully, Jay K. Jeffries Andros Is., Bahamas A skimmer afloat is but
a submarine, so poorly built it will not plunge. -----Original Message----- Jay/Paul: A heads up on
the EXO: We did the swimming trials last year and everything went . . well . . .swimmingly. The Prehensor
(fingered, fully-articulated 'hand') was finished just before that
(after 3 years and five prototypes worth of tough sluggin'!) All the molds
for the 1000 foot torso and limb spacers were finished early in 2007
(except the hand pod and boot molds - I'm making some further change,s now) and a
set of two castings of all torso and spacers are currently in our
shop awaiting machining. They're waiting cuz we have been going flat
out for the last half of last year and all of this year! We currently have
two DeepWorker subs and crews carrying out a detailed HD video survey in
the Priblof Canyon at the top end of Alaska - We just finished
a five year major for Lloyds on DualDeepWorker2 (this the one we built for Jim
Cameron and Mike McDowell) - We have Deep Rover and crews in Korea
carrying out an HD video and condition survey of an eleven mile long pipeline iat
1000 meters depth- we did a long stint for BBC in Micronesia a couple of
months ago, with the Newtsuit on a deep-water wreck (It will air in US through
Discovery Channel - they are just finishing the final edit in the UK now -
should air sometime in Sept, it's called 'Pacific Abyss' keep an eye
open for it!) Also watch for the DeepWorkers on 'Most Dangerous Catch'
- (Bering Sea, no fun!) and two of the Exosuit full scale ergonomic
prototypesmarching around on 'Stargate Altlantis' . Lets see - we also did a
pilot training session for scientists from Greenpeace, a month or so, ago, and
been workin' 'Aquarius' steady, ( reliable ol' workhorse that it is!)
- and speaking of Aquarius, we just signed a contract to build an extended
tourist sub version of Aquarius - this sub will operate at 1000 feet+
in the Caribbean. Finished up a contract for a documentary group off the
coast of Washington State - found several old ships, no treasure, but lots of
BIG halibut in deep water. That surprised our guys! We see Halibut in
Northern BC and in Alaska - but haven't seen them in Washington before . . Sorry, I'm
rambling. Will get back on the Exosuit as soon as we get time. I do lurk on the Psub site when I get a chance (as
you can see) and, Hey,Psubbers! don't savage Pat Regan ( was that you,
Jon?) he's done some cool stuff - with emphasis on 'done'!
