I only had a chance to look at an earlier version of OMER (I believe 3) and it was a nightmare of mechanics and electronic that they could never get sorted out.  They always ran slower than everybody else.  They were rather secretive of what they had inside and only got short glimpses.  If I remember correctly they had a multi-geared transmission at that time that sucked up a lot of energy before getting it to the prop.  I understand that much of the computer power is used to automatically adjust the prop pitch to speed for maximum efficiency.

Jay....what is "networked" on OMER 5, ...guidance (fins) and propulsion???? What would they be using, sealed palm pilots / tiny electric actuators???
