Yes, very helpful thanks for these.

This..."Tightness"....in the engine compartment has bothered me a bit recently. To the point of putting dual rotating external pods -vs- a single internal electric drive.

This is however, more true to the original. Perhaps, by build time...diesel power units will be even smaller than the Kubota units I have seen.

This is a departure from the simplicity of the drive belt -to- shared shaft -thru- packing gland previously recommended by Peter. But, I have a bit more in mind for the "Electric" part of the Diesel / Electric boat.
