Right, 600 feet is too far....   but if it's available....  why not just lower the sub to the depth you want?   If the pit is 600 feet deep, just lower it to 400 feet maybe?

 Alec , i worked for a guy last week, hapens to have been a navy sub marinear, said ther is a place in Indiana that is a diver gravel pit-600 some feet. Planes and Boats sunk there and Navy training there at times. I dont have a fast computer so maybe someone here might know or find the place.
